The Collaborative Action for Childcare Annual Conference 2024

Local Public Sector Alliance (LPSA) together with Collaborative Action for Childcare/Uthabiti Africa (CAC) and Localizing Women Economic Empowerment in Africa Technical Working Group, aims to bring together, state and non-state actors dedicated to advancing the quest for quality and affordable childcare. The conference aims to drive tangible and feasible change in childcare practices and policies nationwide. This two-day conference, taking place on June 26th and 27th in Kisumu County, Kenya, brings together a diverse array of stakeholders dedicated to driving tangible change in the childcare sector, it will feature high-level plenary sessions, multi-sectoral panel discussions, and breakout sessions, covering topics such as policy reformation, financing, and practical solutions for improving childcare services.

One of the highlights of the conference will be the session titled “Multilevel Governance and Localizing Childcare for Women’s Economic Empowerment.” The session will explore the critical role of local governance in enhancing childcare and empowering women economically. While the specific keynote speakers have not been announced yet, the conference aims to feature experts and leaders from various sectors who will share their valuable insights and experiences on addressing the pressing challenges facing the childcare sector.
