LPSA Expert Working Group on Europe & Central Asia – Open Meeting – October 2023

LPSA’s Expert Working Group (EWG) on Europe & Central Asia (ECA) aims to bring together government officials, policy practitioners, scholars, civil society organizations, and citizens who share an interest and expertise on decentralization, multilevel governance, intergovernmental relations, local governance and local development in ECA.

The next public meeting of the ECA Expert Working Group is scheduled to take place on October 11, 2023, 10:00 EDT/ 15:00 BST/ 16:00 CEST/19:00 UZT. Registration for this meeting is required.

The focus of the upcoming meeting will be on the Power of decentralization in Ukraine: Local Governments Resistance, Resilience and Rebuilding during the Conflict. Guest speakers will share presentations on the timeline of decentralization in Ukraine from 2016-2018, its resilience in an asymmetric war, the role of local governments and decentralization reform, the impact of PIT and property taxes on local governments in Ukraine, and the experiences of local governments during the conflict.
