Decentralization, localization, and multilevel governance is an inter-disciplinary, cross-cutting, and multi-sector policy area, with different stakeholders focusing on different thematic areas, including inclusive local governance, local democracy and community-led development, fiscal decentralization and subnational finance; localizing services and development; cities and urban development; conflict, fragility, and migration; local climate action and environmental stewardship; and gender equity and women’s empowerment.
