LPSA GEWE Working Group Meet & Greet – UCLG World Congress, Tangier 2026

The Local Public Sector Alliance’s (LPSA) Thematic Working Group on Gender Equity and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE) invites members and allies to an informal networking session on the margins of the UCLG World Congress in Tangier, Morocco.
Taking place on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 4:00–5:00 PM, this gathering offers a unique opportunity to connect with practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and civil society leaders working at the intersection of decentralization, localization, and gender equality.
Why Attend?
This intimate meet-up creates space for GEWE Working Group members and LPSA colleagues to build meaningful connections ahead of the official Congress program. The session will feature a reflection on the working group’s activities and achievements since its establishment, offering participants a chance to take stock of progress and impact.
Over coffee and light refreshments, members will share updates on their work in the decentralization, localization, and gender equality space, fostering peer learning and identifying potential collaborations. The gathering will also provide an opportunity to collectively identify member priorities and chart opportunities for the working group’s next phase of engagement over the coming two years.
Whether you’re a long-standing LPSA member or new to our community, this session offers a valuable platform to strengthen professional networks, contribute to shaping the working group’s future direction, and advance our shared commitment to inclusive and equitable local development.
