Join LPSA’s online member directory

Registering as a member of the Local Public Sector Alliance on our member portal (localpublicector.org) allows you to create a member profile and publicly share your experience and expertise as part of LPSA’s online member directory. LPSA’s Member Directory allows colleagues in the community of practice to contact you (without us disclosing your email address), enabling others to learn from your experiences and expertise in decentralization and local governance.

Note that whereas non-members can see and search the online directory (and view the member map), they cannot access individual Member Profiles. Only logged-in LPSA members can see you profile and contact you through the member portal. Your email address will never be revealed.

You can create a member profile and be included in LPSA’s member directory in a few easy steps:

1. Register or Login

Go to https://localpublicsector.org/ and click “Sign In” in the top-right hand corner. If you don’t already have an account, you can create an account there as well. If you registered as an LPSA member before March 7, 2025, you can use the Forgot password option to validate your email and set a password.

2. Ensure your profile type is set to Global Member

When your profile type is set to Private Member, your member profile will not be displayed as part of the online member directory. Unless you already selected Global Member as your profile type when you registered, you may need to update your membership type.

Your can update your profile type to Global Member (or switch back to Private Member) by selecting “Edit Profile”. Your profile type can be updated under the “Member Details” tab. (See screen shot below). Remember to click “Save Changes” after changing your profile settings.

3. Add your profile picture and complete you member profile

In addition to updating your Member Details (the information provided during registration, including your membership type), your LPSA Member Profile allows you to provide further details about yourself, including Organization, Position, Member Bio, and Experience and Expertise. These Profile Details can be added and edited by clicking on “Profile” and “Edit” in the member menu, and then selecting the “Profile Details” tab, or the “Experience and Expertise” tab. (Again, see screen shot below).

4. Include your city and country as part of your member profile

Make sure to include your city and country as part of your profile details, which will make sure you are included in the member map. This way, colleagues all over the world can easily find you! For privacy reasons, we strongly encourage you to only provide the city and country, rather than providing your full street address.
