SUMMARY:LPSA Asia Working Group – Knowledge Sharing Meeting – January 2025
DESCRIPTION:Urban governance in Asia and the Pacific faces significant challenges from rapid urbanization\, climate change\, and disruptions like the COVID-19 pandemic. To address these pressing issues\, UNDP\, in collaboration with partners\, convened a High-Level Policy Dialogue in October 2024\, which led to the policy brief “Reimagining Urban Governance in Asia and the Pacific.” \nBuilding on this dialogue\, the upcoming LPSA Knowledge Sharing meeting\, organized by the Asia Expert Working Group\, will explore UNDP’s perspectives on transformative urban governance. The discussion will focus on anticipatory\, adaptive\, and agile governance frameworks\, as well as innovative practices from across the region. \nThe meeting is scheduled for Tuesday\, January 21\, 2025 (3:30 PM Delhi\, 5:00 PM BKK\, 6:00 PM Manila). Registration for this meeting is required.  \n Register Here!  \nLPSA’s Expert Working Group (EWG) on Asia brings together government officials\, policy practitioners\, scholars\, civil society organizations\, and citizens who share an interest and expertise in decentralization\, multilevel governance\, intergovernmental relations\, local governance\, and local development in Asia. \nWe need your help to make this meeting a success: If you have any updates about decentralization or local governance reforms in your country; updates about new research; or information about local government projects that you would like mentioned during the open meeting\, please email the Working Group co-chairs at asia@decentralization.net so that a brief announcement can be made at the beginning of the meeting.  \nReminder: You can join any LPSA Expert Working Group free of cost and receive reminders and updates by opting-in to one or more working groups as part of your LPSA Membership registration.  \n
